e-Learning, the pitfalls to avoid

Today the share of companies that have 100% distance learning remains stable at 7%, however the percentage of those who opt for Blended Learning is 74%, leaping 10 points compared to last year. Distance learning is based on our daily habits, that is why Integrating digital technologies into our everyday tasks has become a norm. It becomes evident that integrating e-learning into our training programs is just as important.

When we see that 87% of working people believe that training allows them to evolve and feel better within their work environment, we quickly understand that training is an important part and that it will become more and more so. But before embarking on a Digital Learning training there are concepts to consider, here are the pitfalls to avoid.

Define the objectives

It is important not to set objectives that are too broad or too specific. This is the first thing to do, especially if these are varied. The presentation of a new product to salespeople, the establishment of a new communication channel or even support in a business development.

Objectives for each training purpose need to be defined and we are here to help. It is with the instructional team this work of reflection will be carried out. Also, at this stage, the different training formats will be presented to you.

It is a co-construction project.

Define targets

Once the objectives have been defined, you will need to know the targets. The content of the training can thus be adapted. Several criteria must be taken into account: the average age of the learners, their adaptability to the digital world and their level of knowledge in the training field. You would agree that you do not address a work supervisor the same way as an HR manager, only the most suitable Digital Learning tools and methods will be applied according to the target.

For Gamification for example, the target’s sense of humour and cultural references will be considered. The goal is to build the training as close as possible to the aspirations and practices of the targeted learners.

Define the context

It seems that a good part of the work is already done but there is still more, however it is not the least important, on the contrary. If you have decided to train your teams, there is a good reason and it must be defined precisely. This can be accompanied by a strategy for deploying a company or with the aim of conquering a new market or even supporting the teams in a structural change.

Our role is to make sure to link your context with the enjoyment that your teams will have while training.

Support in training

After the university graduation, learning is no longer regular for some people. Getting back into the pattern of continuous education is sometimes harder than you would imagine. Therefore it is important not to leave the learner alone in front of his training. The transmission of skills can be based on tutoring when the acquisition of new knowledge must involve Top Management
